About the Artist:
Michelle was born and raised in Los Angeles and spent many years on the east coast during college and afterward. She received an undergraduate degree from Columbia University in 2002 and a M.S. from Yale University in 2005.For a time during college, MIchelle lived in Rome where she became involved in the Italian graphic novel scene. The artists she met inspired her and showed her that it is possible to make it as a professional artist. In school Michelle studied environmental science, focusing on ornithology. She continually tried to balance her interests in the arts and sciences."I enjoy exploring the intricacies of the natural world through printmaking. While I have struggled in the past to make a choice between a career in science or art I feel that I have reached a happy medium by blending the two."Michelle currently lives on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.
